Improving traffic safety through roadway visibility

In the late 1960’s the company I.T.L. (now Rayolite) was contacted by the Department of Transportation (DOT) to improve highway visibility during night, fog and rain conditions.

The DOT observed that drivers were unable to see even a newly painted line during fog and/or rain conditions. To accomplish this request, I.T.L. submitted a cubed corner reflective lens installed on highway lines for night time lane delineation.

As a result the raised pavement marker (RPM) helped to make the world’s highways safer. Our high quality RPM’s and custom capabilities are the reason Rayolite markers are used to keep the highways safer across the United States and more than 20 countries worldwide.
